Microscope 357 (Meiji Labax Co. Ltd.; stereo head EMT series; 1990s)

Meiji Labax Co., Ltd. (currently Meiji Techno Co., Ltd) was established in 1975 by Satō Zensuke in Higashiikebukuro (Toshima, Japan). Microscope 357 is a binocular stereo head with turret mounted objective pairs 1X and 3X, EMT series. The instrument is labelled with “MEIJI, EMT”, “MEIJI-LABAX CO. LTD.”, “Tokyo, Japan”, and has the serial number 4656. The trademark for the MEIJI logo seen on this instrument was registered in 1987. The eyepieces in this instrument are labelled with the Vickers trademark. This binocular head would fit several stands sold by the company (Figure 1).
